The Equinox, welcoming & ritualising change

Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere

During this season, we acknowledge the conclusion of summer and embrace rest, revitalization and purposeful reflection after the busy summer months. Summer typically energizes us, encouraging social interactions, adventure, and a vibrant energy akin to the sun. We blossom during this time. However, as autumn approaches, we witness the transformation of trees into shades of brown and orange, while the weather prompts us to move indoors and gather around the warmth of a fire.

Yoga class ideas for the Autumn Equinox:

  • Encourage awareness around the change in seasons and how what we see on the outisde, can be reflected in our internalised practice.

  • Switch up the pace - start to turn the focus inward, slow the practice down for pre winter hibernation. Slow flow, moving meditations and connecting with ourselves rather than having an external goal or focus.
